An Oddlygood™ Oat Yogurt is Heading to the US

Valio USA to Launch Plant Based Line Created in Finland at Expo East in Booth 1044

PARSIPPANY, N.J. (Sept. 14, 2021) – Valio USA is jumping into the alternative yogurt fray with a new line of oat yogurts that are making their U.S. debut next week at Natural Products Expo East in Philadelphia, a trade show for the natural products and specialty food industry.

The yogurts garnered top scores for flavor, texture and aroma versus leading U.S. oat milk yogurt brands in a March 2021 consumer taste test conducted in Northern California by Curion, a consumer products testing firm.

Known for its Finlandia brand of cheeses and butter, Valio created the innovative alternative yogurt line as part of a growing suite of plant-based products made with simple ingredients under the playful brand name Oddlygood. In addition to oat yogurt, Oddlygood’s offerings, now sold in Finland, Sweden, Russia and Baltic countries, include Original Oat Drink, Barista Edition for coffee, cooking ingredients and plant-based sliced and shredded mozzarella, cheddar, gouda and smoked gouda plant-based cheeses.

At Expo East, Valio is exhibiting in Booth 1044 as Oddlygood Oat Yogurt Alternatives.

“Our Oddlygood yogurt alternatives are dairy free, gluten free and vegan, not to mention creamy and delicious,” says Mari Meriluoto, director of marketing and business development for Valio USA, formerly known as Finlandia Cheese, Inc. Valio USA is a division of Valio, based in Helsinki, Finland.

“Whether vegan, dairy-free by conviction or diet restriction, flexitarian or curious by nature, Oddlygood stands for individuality and all the good life has to offer,” Meriluoto says.

The yogurt flavors include Plain, Vanilla, Blueberry and Raspberry. They come in single-serve containers in 5.3 oz. (150 gram) portions and are sold in 12-pack cases. The suggested retail price is $1.99/5.3 oz.

Each yogurt has 3 grams of protein per serving and contains live and active cultures. Calories range from 110 to 120 per container. The yogurt is made from an oat blend of water, gluten free oat flour, cane sugar, pea protein and other ingredients depending on the flavor and is enriched with vitamins (B12 and D2) and minerals (calcium).
